New store to open in Short Pump Town Center


Richmond, VA, April 29, 2011 – It’s time to sweat once a day in Richmond as lululemon athletica celebrates the opening of its new store in Short Pump Town Center (1128-11800 W Broad Street). This will be the first full retail location in the Richmond area for the yoga-inspired athletic apparel company.

“The community of Richmond is a vibrant, active city with an established run, triathlon and yoga community,” said Short Pump store manager Valerie Rosile Young. “The level of health and fitness in this community is an inspiration to our entire team and we can’t wait to sweat once a day with our guests and provide them with beautiful technical apparel for all of their athletic pursuits.”

Store opening festivities kick off on Friday night with an evening Vinyasa yoga class taught by Michele Keeney of Diossa Yoga and American Family Fitness. This will be an outdoor practice from 6 – 9 p.m. on the lawn adjacent to the fountain. Guests are invited to stay after class for healthy snacks and music. Store opening celebrations continue throughout the weekend with ongoing live yoga demonstrations in-store all day on Saturday. Sunday morning will start with a 60-minute Vinyasa yoga class at 11 a.m. led by Lauren Fritsch from Om On Yoga. Classes are suitable for all levels, complimentary and open to the public.

The Short Pump store puts this vision into action by partnering with yoga studios and fitness clubs around the city to offer classes, demos and training clinics to guests.
