VAtubeVirginia is giving residents and visitors even more to love about winter getaways with new offerings at the state’s four mountain resorts.  Bryce Resort, the Homestead Resort, Massanutten Resort and Wintergreen Resort are tucked away in beautiful mountaintop landscapes of Virginia. Skiing, snowboarding, ice skating and even snowmobiling abound in Virginia’s winter playgrounds.  This year each of Virginia’s mountain resorts has new programs, activities and packages to help families connect on a great winter getaway. Check out what’s new this winter at Virginia’s mountain resorts below or visit www.Virginia.org for more information.

Bryce Resort

Located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, Bryce Resort is a 400-acre resort that is consistently voted the most family-friendly resort in the Mid-Atlantic by OnTheSnow.com.

Skiers can hone their skills at the nationally known Horst Locher Ski School or enroll their children in the SKIwee or Mini Rider programs. These programs cater to children ages four to eight years of age.  This winter it’s getting even easier for families – especially those with young children - with Bryce’s new kids’ area.

New Kids’ Area Opening Winter 2010 - This new section at Bryce includes brightly colored animals and a new carpet lift for little ones. This means that many more children can be accommodated in the SKIwee and Mini Rider programs where they learn the basics of skiing and snowboarding.  Mini Rider is for kids age 6-8.  Both are half-day sessions taught by experienced instructors.
